I recently spent a few days with my partner Emily in Northumberland. The weather was variable but we managed to see and do a lot, camping every night except one, and enjoying the variety of beaches, hills, lake and forest that this wonderful corner of England has.

We stayed a night at the warm and welcoming Squirrel Cottage at Yarrow Corner near Kielder Water. This charming creature is one of many regular visitors.
